The Pride Agenda's annual Fall Dinner brings together over 1,100 supporters to celebrate the LGBT community and demonstrate our strength and commitment to achieving equality and justice for all LGBT New Yorkers. We will be joined by LGBT leaders, straight allies, politicians and decisionmakers who are all proud to stand up for the rights of LGBT New Yorkers.

In October 2015, Oscar and Grammy Award-Winner Jennifer Hudson and London breakout star Cynthia Erivo, from Broadway’s upcoming revival of The Color Purple, performed at the Fall Dinner celebrating 25 years of history, progress, and pride!

We honored New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo with the distinctive Silver Torch Award and marked our 25th anniversary by honoring the Pride Agenda’s original founders with the 2015 Douglas W. Jones Leadership Award. In 1990, the Albany-based New York State Gay and Lesbian Lobby and the New York City-based Friends and Advocates for Individual Rights (FAIRPAC) merged to form the Pride Agenda. Since then, the Pride Agenda has counted over 100 separate victories on the local and state levels, including statewide guidelines fostering a safe and supportive education for trans students in New York and the passage of laws regarding discrimination, marriage, bullying, health and human services, and the runaway and youth homeless crises the LGBT community faces every day.

Also, in addition to Pride Agenda Executive Director Nathan Schaefer, we heared from Anti-Violence Project’s Executive Director, Beverly Tillary, and leading voices in the trans* community, including Anti-Violence Project Community Organizer LaLa Zannell.

The Fall Dinner host was Seth Rudetsky. Seth is well known as the host of "Seth's Big Fat Broadway" and "Seth Speaks," on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio's show “On Broadway!

Table Captain FAQ

What Does A Table Captain Do?

A Table Captain agrees to buy his/her own ticket and tries to sell at least nine additional tickets to his/her friends to fill a table of ten people.  Ambitious Captains try to fill two or more tables.  Many Sponsors are also Table Captains.

How Can I Be a Successful Table Captain?

First, let the Pride Agenda know that you want to serve as a Table Captain.  As soon as possible, begin to informally invite friends to sit with you at the dinner (a “save the date!” email works well).  Try to get a firm commitment and let them know that you will be sending them a formal invitation in early September.  Sponsorships are available now and begin at $1,500.

Throughout the coming months, we will send you updates on the event, and we will help you keep track of your table’s progress by listing your name and your guest names on our website.

When Will I Receive Invitations to Mail Out?

The Pride Agenda will send you the number of invitations you have requested in mid-September.  They will be either mailed or sent via messenger to you, unless you prefer to pick them up in the Pride Agenda office.  Please give us an address where a package can be received because a standard NYC mailbox is usually too small to hold the package of invitations.  Please mail the invitations as soon as you receive them; we recommend including a short a personalized note about why you support the Pride Agenda.  We will also send out the invitation in an email format.

Am I Personally Obligated To Pay for the Entire Table if I Don’t Sell All Ten Seats?

No! While you are agreeing to use your best efforts to fill an entire table, you have no financial obligation for any unsold seats.  If need be, we will fill your table with overflow guests from other tables.  Or, you can combine your table with a friend’s table.  Of course, if you fill more than one table, we will place those tables together!
