DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Location: New York City, NY

Summary: The Empire State Pride Agenda is New York’s statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization. Our mission is to win equality and justice for LGBT New Yorkers and our families.  As part of our work, the Pride Agenda coordinates the New York State LGBT Health and Human Services Network (“the Network”), a coalition of over 50 non-profit, community-based organizations providing non-HIV LGBT health and human services across the state.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development leads the Development program and manages all aspects of the team’s work to raise resources required for the operations of the Empire State Pride Agenda, Inc., a 501(c)(4), and the Empire State Pride Agenda Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Sources of income include major donors, foundations, special events, corporations and individual giving.
The full-time Director of Development will lead a Development team of three.

Job Description:
Based in either Albany or New York City, the Director of Programs will have primary responsibility for oversight of all Pride Agenda activities related to the administration, support and budgeting of the statewide Health and Human Services Network, including coordination of Pride Agenda staff members who perform these duties.  The Director of Programs will also be the staff member primarily responsible for institutionally-supported programmatic work of the Empire State Pride Agenda Foundation.  This includes management of multiple projects with varied milestones, targets, and reporting mechanisms.  Duties include:

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Location: New York City

Summary: The Empire State Pride Agenda is New York’s statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization. Our mission is to win equality and justice for LGBT New Yorkers and our families. Through our education, organizing and advocacy programs, we work toward creating a broadly diverse alliance of LGBT people and our allies in government, communities of faith, labor, all sectors of the workforce and other social justice movements to achieve equality for LGBT New Yorkers and the broader goals of social, racial and economic justice.

Position Summary: The Communications Intern will assist the Communications Department and other staff with drafting content for the website and publications, proofreading, internet research, updating online properties (website, social networks, blog), compiling press clips and other communications projects as needed. We’re looking for a driven self-starter who takes direction, but is up for playing a strong role on our team!

Compensation: This is a part-time, unpaid internship. School credit is available. The schedule is flexible during regular business hours with some evening and weekend events.
