The passage of Proposition 8 in California, which took away marriage equality for same-sex couples, has led to passionate protests and calls for equality from LGBT people and our allies across the country. Now it’s time to channel the anger generated by this setback into productive energy here in New York—because marriage equality could be a reality here in just a matter of months!
There is something to do for everyone—gay or straight, young or old, upstate and downstate—from members of faith communities and labor unions to working professionals and college students. The important thing is that we all take this renewed energy and put it to good strategic use! Only together can we make the biggest impact.

We’ve organized grassroots support across the state—from Buffalo to Montauk! If you are a member of the LGBT community, a parent, a friend, a co-worker or just an ally in support of equality, get involved with an Impact Team near you! Join hundreds of “super volunteers” working across the state to organize support for crucial LGBT legislation, like marriage equality.
