Sheilah Sable is the Upstate Director of Pride in Action for the Empire State Pride Agenda. Based in Albany, Sheilah is the program leader for the statewide Marriage Ambassadors, upstate organizing, the GENDA Coalition, and Pride in Our Union.

Prior to joining the Pride Agenda in October 2008, Sheilah was responsible for raising almost half of the funds collected by United Way of the Greater Capital Region through workplace campaign efforts. In that capacity, she built relationships with corporations, unions, and faith based communities, as well as non-profits. She has strong roots in the LGBT and feminist communities, having served on the boards of the Capital District Gay & Lesbian Community Council and a multi-cultural feminist foundation, Holding Our Own. She also co-founded a grassroots program, The Empowerment Project, serving the self-defense needs of members of various marginalized communities. She currently facilitates a LGBT Youth Group in Albany, New York.

Sheilah is currently a master’s candidate in the Organizational Management program of Springfield College and received her undergraduate degree in English and Women’s Studies from The University at Albany.
